Nylon (PA6 / PA66) Engineering Plastic

Sheets | Rods | Tubes | Cast Blocks | Custom Machined Components

Nylon, commonly available as PA6 (Polyamide 6) and PA66 (Polyamide 66), is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic known for its excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and good chemical resistance. It is one of the most widely used materials in mechanical and load-bearing applications.

In solid form, Nylon is available as extruded and cast sheets, rods, tubes, and blocks for machining and structural applications. Cast Nylon (PA6G) is especially preferred for heavy-duty industrial components due to its improved mechanical strength, reduced internal stress, and better dimensional stability in large sizes.

Description

Nylon offers excellent abrasion resistance, high tensile strength, and good fatigue resistance. It is widely used in gears, rollers, bushes, wear pads, and structural components where strength and durability are essential. The material also provides good resistance to oils, fuels, and many industrial chemicals.

Due to its balance of mechanical strength, machinability, and cost-effectiveness, nylon remains a preferred choice in general engineering, heavy machinery, automotive, and industrial applications.
